Gutter Guards Should Fit Properly

Gutter covers serve a great purpose - when it's the proper material that's install the right way!

This is example of what NOT to do!

First of all, the material should prevent debris from entering the gutters. Clearly this isn't happening in this example of an actual home. Are you wondering how much debris you don't see has accumulated inside these gutters that's restricting the flow of fallen rain water and possibly causing damage to windows, doors and the foundation? Not a good situation you see here!

Also, this material shouldn't be covering the surface of the edge of the roof!  High points for creativity on the part of the homeowner. Effectiveness of their "gutter covers?" Not so much...
